My first Final Fantasy for DS was in fact the remake of the third title of aforesaid series. Nowadays I wonder, why the game was only in that way officially released outside of Japan, since it contains many aspects I love at the most about my favorite FFs. I spent many hours for getting through the story – enjoying the plot almost as much as I do when playing any version of FF IV.
Because of the noteworthiness of FF III itself, I'm a huge fan of the whole raid featuring the Crystal Tower plus the World Of Darkness in FF XIV. Yet, I miss this one music-theme of the game's final part – The Forbidden Land Eureka. As we even got Doga and Unei as characters PLUS their song (although only in shape of a calm theme) in the story around aforesaid raid, it's in my opinion unfair to let this one track completely out of the list.
Therefore, I tried via the help of the DS-version to tinker a piece that demonstrates at least the inspiration of an XIV-theme. You can imagine my creation as some sort of dungeon-theme. Also, I added the tunes of these two ancient personalities because of their role in the original game. (Doga and Unei had the key for opening the path to Eureka, which can be found in the bottom floor of the Crystal Tower.)
My cover for the song shows a combination of two screenshots as well as an old Amano-Artwork for the original Final Fantasy III; the Crystal Tower itself. You can find the background-screenshot (obviously made in Mor Dhona) via Google, while my main-character Cecilia Shirone plus Midgardsormr here were 'photographed' by myself. I played with several effects of Gimp around in order to get the result you can see – it's not exactly what I had in mind, yet comes at least close enough.
