[Azur Lane] Vacation Line 2nd EX Clear Guide/ Tamaki Boss Battle/ Dead or Alive x Azur Lane collab

投稿日:

This video is a straight continuation of the previous one, where we were taking a look at the first EX stage of the currently ongoing collaboration event, Vacation Lane. Therefore, this part serves as an in-depth guide about the second EX and its bosses, Luna and Tamaki.

UPD: It seems like both enemies have medium armour, because Tamaki takes additional damage from semi-armour-piercing shells, so take everything that was written below with a grain of salt. Still, the wiki says that she's heavy for some reason.

While I feel more comfortable using aircraft carriers, it might be a wise decision to utilize battleships due to the enemies' armour type: Tamaki has heavy armour, while Luna features medium, where both of them take additional damage from large caliber armour-piercing rounds, which lets the battleships deal high enough damage consistently to both targets. However, SAP shells would only be effective against one of the enemies and will deal little to no damage to the other, and the same can be said about HE, that can penetrate heavy armour (still not being as effective as AP rounds), but lacks the damage output against medium.

Carriers, on the other hand, in theory can deal much more damage to both targets at the same time but have to prioritize one armour type over another: rockets from the fighters deal absurdly high damage to the medium armour, but almost nothing to the heavy, and torpedo bombers are more effective against the heavy, respectively. They shouldn't be considered weak though, their damage is still really high and that's the main reason why I still prefer them in the end.

Lastly, if you're using torpedo ships in the frontline, you can supply them with magnetic torpedo tubes to maximize the damage output during the middle of the fight, because you won't really be able to get closer to the bosses.

Although this wasn't said in the video, evasion mechanics are not present in the EX stages, which makes Improved Hydraulic Rudder and other equipment with the same purpose useless. If you want to maximize the survivability of your Vanguard line, just substitute them for a Little Beaver Squadron Tag, Eagle Union Elite Damage Control or something that gives a conditional ship more HP.

As opposed to the previous stage, this gamemode actually features a score system and its own leaderboard, so, if the potential viewer has an urge to maximize the amount of points gained, they'll have to use a minimum amount of equipment and ships that haven't reach the maximum level. I didn't follow that rule during the video, because it doesn't serve as an example of the highest score that can theoretically be gotten. In addition, equipment on some of the ships remain unchanged from different activities, so it shouldn't be considered as the most optimal variant.

As always, I hope that this video was helpful to you!
