I am neutral on ACT I don't really care for it since there was a 24 man raid that I got bullied before. From there never really liked it. In some ways I wish ACT was gone since it mainly has caused more toxicity then necessary.

The bans that have happened for the lewd stuff is pretty simple. It's the folks that have broken the lewd rules. Primarily don't post to social media, and if you do make sure you don't mention your character name, server, or have any watermarks. And I've noticed it's pretty common for folks to set up twitter accounts and name their character and server in hopes of getting some interaction or possibly turn it into a business venture. Namely taking lewd shots for Gil.

For parsing they could just have a final readout at the end of battle in the combat log showing your own personal total DPS/HPS/Damage taken, etc. Similar to how ESO does it on console where you can fight a target dummy and when you stop for a long period it will give you an estimated DPS and how long combat lasted, etc.

i use character mods to personalize my character. i hate the way miqote ears look? i fix them to look more like cat ears. but apparently that is bannable. but if i get banned for any amount of time over it. i will not be coming back to the game. thats sub money i can spend on another hobby.

I don't believe mods should have people prosecuted, nor be something people are banned for. Yes, stuff seeming lewd in nature is not for everyone, and it shouldn't be used out of respect for Yoshida-san. However there is talented creators, making their own intellectual property, designing things from rock bottom, scratch even; like any good artist who is passionate about something would do. Modders should not be demonized for the bad apples that are amongst the bunch, since they do things the Dev team hasn't done. They've made hairstyles available to Viera, due to there being a lack of such, as well as ungender locking clothes. Personally it does sadden me that I can't wear a wedding dress just because my character is male, though through modding such a thing is possible. As a former PS4 player I can understand them just saying to ban people, but mods do change the game's experience. It makes it feel quite personal, being able to display yourself as you want and be creative.

I think that if used correct ACT is fine and a great tool for raiders. I wouldn't even mind it being in game in fact if launched correctly it could actually make ACT extinct. If you were to go into a duty in a preformed party and everyone had an option selected for in-game parse meters (Much like how the in-game duty recording works) then everyone is agreed for it to be displayed. Then in DF and your standard content it just wouldn't be an option so it couldn't be used there. Then there would be no reason to use ACT unless you were using it for other features to gain an unfair advantage.

All in all I think this is just their way of telling the community to keep it down and to not let it get out of hand. They don't want to take action against players but if it keeps getting broadcast all over the place that people are modding using Third party tools they will have to take action kinda like how your teacher would give the class that warning before kicking someone out if you didn't listen.

I am personally disappointed that they won’t make parsers a part of the game. Right now, if running any content that requires a good dps rating, the only way to win is to use utmost efficiency... to say that the game won’t be fun if efficiency is all we look at is faulty imo. Due to rage timers and/or instant-wipe mechanics based on dps, it is essential that all members have good numbers, otherwise they are the trolls, wasting everyone’s time.

Having the parser would give every player a way to reflect on their progression, and would provide us all with new goals to shoot for after the more casual content has run its course! They could even frame it as a fun way to compete with friends for highest dps... stats like “hp healed” and “damage mitigated” could bring all roles into the conversation, and could be shown upon wipe or win.

It’s just disappointing that they’re being so near-sighted about it. Players are only toxic about dps because of the ignorance of those who don’t know their own dps faults. Yes, there are trolls and jerks wherever you go, and they should not be that way... but a built-in parser would have given us a way to fight back, or to reflect honestly on ourselves.

I am dismayed that stating an incontrovertible fact is now considered harassment. Next pointing out someone being killed by standing in a clearly marked AoE ability will be considered harassment.

If the developer creates group content with increasing difficulty modes along with systems to randomly match players together, it is irresponsible to not provide players with tools to empirically gauge individual performance. Having a personal meter with rich drilldown features within the game is a fair compromise for everyone.

Another welcome feature would be an individual instanced arena that provides challenges with ever increasing difficulty that allow players to train not only their profession but also all the various game mechanics used over time.
