  @Cyrus Nagisa could be arguing semantics here... but technically they are looking for a party. I was thinking of using it to help advertise that I'm a house decorator and am looking for work. Which others have said, yes do that! But now, I'm not so certain. Even the... group/link shells are no help because it's a feature nobody uses. And if you get random invites, you may just leave cause of confusion. But yes, the specifically use the other sections of party finder, which you can easily go to the filters yourself and tap to dungeons or raids, what have you.
  
  But for all that... even shouting in a major city or popular area isn't any good either cause of fear of reporting for spam.
  
  But yes, these warnings are for very grey areas...
  
  But people shouldn't have to rely on 3rd party sites in order to hang out. That is the main issue.

  @Riku Masamune I do agree that I feel the warning it self is stupid, but it still does not change the fact that it has nothing to do with roleplaying and all to do with missuse of the PF that got them the warning. Is it stupid? Yes, but that is still what happened.

If someone representing the team can officially come forward with what lines are particularly drawn, rather than what is enforced and not enforced, there would be more consistency.

I dont understand what the GM did wrong here. He enforced the rule. If you want to advertise your rp fc event they made an entire feature for this, the fellowship system is designed for this, and selling content for gil isnt against ToS, selling content for cash is.

Personally, I thought it was pretty cool that the Party Finder was actually a Party Finder! But seriously, RPers probably spend more money in the online store than anyone else, does SE really want to lose us?

so it took them 10 years to say something about using the pf for non-content? eh yeah. i doubt this is going to be enforced by other GMs.

I'm saying it now. It's a Karen issue. We have had a recent uptick in Karens when certain MSQ roulette "actions" are taken and they do threaten players who do this with reports.

In a way I just hope that this will get the devs to look at the fact that the game cannot get by only with the inbuilt tools, or if so then these need to be changed or expanded to accommodate things like this. I guess the thing that *really* bugs me here is the fact that you DO see PF being used for selling clears, and then it is *this* thing that's problematic? I would get it much more if the GMs were generally on a purging spree of all content that wasn't 'supposed' to be in the PF, but to me this seems ridiculous! With far too big consequences for people who may like the poster in question just be following the general customs and paradigms of the server. (I have personally never seen PF used for RP advertising, but then different servers always have had different cultures like this, also in other games, but that's another topic entirely.)

And, in a way? It could be fixed by making another tab that was called "social" in the PF, no? Because let's face it: The 'shout into the void'-fellowship-feature is not going to be used, and none of us are super certain what the purpose of the community finder or whatever it was called was, aside of helping you find an FC (which is important, and should take away some of the yells in city zones).
