Welcome everyone to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Heavensward and Stormblood. Also going beyond that when new stuff hits. The series will be very inconsistent more than likely and won't cover anything in A Realm Reborn except some dungeons. This playthrough starts off in the Heavensward expansion. I'll give you a little info about the reasoning for this here. Slayor and I previously beat all of the original content in A Realm Reborn plus the first major story patches that came out. After that we stopped playing for about a year or so and then decided to come back and get to Heavensward. After returning we realised that there was a ton of new patches that dropped after we quit so we started trying to power through all of those, which was not fun since we were specifically excited to get to Heavensward. We got down to the last 1 or 2 patches and then just bought the skip potion to get on our way, it was well worth it. We missed the initial release of Heavensward by a couple years as you can tell, but that's fine. By the time we reach Stormblood we will be in the same position, maybe we will catch up some day. This will mainly be played just as a chill game, hence the expected inconsistency in the uploads for it.
Final Fantasy XIV has, in my opinion, a solid story and gameplay. I haven't played that many MMO's but I definitely enjoy playing this far more than the others I've played, which include World of Warcraft, Tera, Rift, Guild Wars 2, 4Story, Elder Scrolls Online, Neverwinter and Black Desert Online. Not a very professional list, but somewhat respectable? You can be the judge of that. Either way, I like this and have fun with it and that is all that matters.
