Heyo all! Here is Part 29 of my Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers Playthrough / Walkthrough / Lets play! Unfortunately I ran into an issue with my next several videos and they "skip" and glitch out. I'm very frustrated with this, especially as it feels very unprofessional, but sadly there is nothing I can do. I may stream NG+ when it comes out due to this but I'm not sure. I'm very sorry for these issues.
I got ahead of my recordings and renders while I was seeing family so I had to take a couple days off due to not having time to record. Then this past Monday I recorded some extra videos so I'm ahead again! I'm so in love with FFXIV Shadowbringers and really enjoying this play through! I may feature some side content here and there and end game content, more as a compilation instead of a "play through" per se, but we'll see. Sorry that this is seemingly going up late as hell, I'm trying new render settings and it increased file size. Our upload speed sucks. I'm going to have to start uploading at night again!
Last time we learned of Magnus' wife's passing. She had died attempting to find leonite in order to bring the Talos back to life and it took them two months to find her body. We are then told that Magnus is, if not at the tavern, at the grave of his wife and son. We go to talk to him and Thancred asks for their names - Agna, his wife, Skuli, his son. Thancred opens up to him, talking of his being an orphan and being taken in by Louisoix, meeting Minfilia and how he was the cause of her losing her family at a very young age. He always attempted to make amends but never truly felt he could. Thancred pleads for Magnus' help again, but he simply disregards the question. As Thancred leaves him be, Minfilia tells Thancred that the original Minfilia is not gone despite how she believes he feels. Rather than rebuttal her words he simply pats her head, surprising her, and he leaves. Urianger and Seosamh ask Jaffe and Jeryk if there was any other place we could find leonite regardless of the chance. They mention a place nearby and tell us to look for a man named Guthjorn. Urianger then asks Seosamh to check on Thancred and bring him to the area which he does. Guthjorn initially doesn't offer much in the way of help but notes we aren't leaving and offers a trade secret that could potentially work. For compensation we have to search for a Voeburt gold piece he dropped and with Thancred's sun drops we manage to find it. Guthjorn explains that there are small creatures that gets minerals stuck to their backs and how to lure them out; Thancred and Seosamh do this and provide the samples to Guthjorn to check. As it turns out there is some leonite and it has a note carved into it. It was from Agna to Magnus and we quickly bring it to him. He seems to not care, still defeated, but watches Urianger bring the Talos back to life away from the group. He cries for his wife, upset that she "left him" for this, but does regain his composure and hope after letting out his feelings. Soon after, as the miners work on the Talos, Urianger speaks with Minfilia on her troubles. He tells her to have faith and that the original Minfilia would want her to carve her own path in the world, giving her great comfort. Seosamh and Thancred hear this and Seosamh tells him to go to her but he refuses to do so. What will be her choice...?
I love the Shadowbringers expansion very much so far! The music, the environments, the enemies (new and old!) and the story is written beautifully so far! It's shaping up to be the best expansion that Final Fantasy XIV has had yet, and that's saying something. I can't wait to see more!
I will be using my new intro, which I am extremely proud of, in every video! If you want to skip it, the intro ends at roughly 1 minute and 45 seconds. It is a longer intro because I did not feel my usual 30-45 second intros would do this justice. And justice demands no less! Unfortunately I was unable to play this game when Stormblood released so I had a lot of catching up to do fairly recently but I loved every second of it. I am hoping to have some friends to full party dungeons during the playthrough but we'll see! I can always try out the new Trust System if need be. So far I've been very much loving the new expansion, and especially the changes to Summoner! What all do you think of the expansion and Patch 5.0 so far? Let me know in the comments below!
