SYNOPSIS:-
“Dipabalir Saatkahan” , based on the novel- ‘Satkahan’ is about a woman Dipabali and her struggle against all the odds of the society. Set in the picturesque North Bengal amid lush green tea gardens and sparkling rivers, “Satkahan”, the novel by Samaresh Majumder traces the-then political turbulence and the socio-economic structure of the period and the fight for survival of a young lady Dipabali. This woman-centric social novel is written in two parts .She got married at a young age of just 11 years and became a widow even before she could understand what marriage is all about. The story narrates her brave struggles against all the odds that the society throws at her. The ways she cops with multiple adverse social situations are beautifully depicted in this epic novel. This masterpiece is much ahead of its time and has relevance in the present day society too.
