Peasmarsh Junction was where the Guilford to Christs Hospital line left the main Guildford to Portsmouth line. Most of the Christs Hospital to Peasmarsh Junction line is today the Downs Link bridleway..
There are good vantage points at Peasmarsh Junction, one of which is a footbridge also giving views of the Shalford Junction to Dorking and Redhill line.
Yesterday I cycled the Downs Link to film 33012 from the Swanage Railway @SwanageRailwayOfficial 4TC 428 on their way from Eastleigh Works to Alton for the Mid Hants Railway @thewatercressline Diesel gala from tomorrow through to Sunday.
I was expecting this to be a Gbrf 66 so the 33 made the round trip of 39 miles for me, mostly in the rain on the return, and missing out on an excellent double charmer at The Milk Churn @Bookhams more bearable.
