Hello! Zirion here today to present to you an in-depth review (and rant) on the rather strange oddity known as 428: Shibuya Scramble (PC/PS4/Wii), a live-action visual novel by Jiro Ishii about 5 interlocking character’s stories on the streets of Shibuya. A visual novel with many flaws, but just as many strengths.
While I realize this review is quite long, I’ve done my best to cover all the important points of 428 Shibuya Scramble, from getting a baseline overview of all the characters, to the mechanics of the game. There will be no major spoilers to the story throughout the review until the 30:50 Mark, and even then I will only focus a small portion to spoiling the ending which can be skipped at 34:33 and will instead focus on additional scenarios, and other hidden secrets the game has.
My hope is that through this review, you can figure out for yourself whether this thriller of a visual novel is something you would like to experience. Even if in the end you decide not to, as long as you enjoyed my ranting of 428 Shibuya Scramble, that would be fantastic as well!
