Saber's Golden Dagger refine is amazing. Just one little refine can open up a whole other can of worms for potential builds, & this is what I like to see in these refines. As we all know, Distant Counter is REALLY, REALLY GOOD. It turns any melee or dragon unit into an amazing ranged check granted you have the defenses to run such a skill. So seeing the design space open up for something this good & making a conditional Distant Counter that only activates when you have a special gives a whole other meaning to the Distant Counter skill. So much so that there's a variety of build options you can build on him alone.
So, what build option did I pick for my -Atk Saber you all saw? Nothing new for the set; just gave him Aegis & Atk Smoke alongside Double Brazens, & he's been tearing things apart. So much so that he can check a lot of units, like Micaiah & nearly every ranged unit except for minor annoyances like Razzle-Dazzle, Close Counter, Vantage, Desperation, or units like Lewyn, Reinhardt, Ishtar, & the like. If you wanna run Hardy Bearing on this kit, that's up to you, but these skills are ever so rarely used in Arena. Though in Aether Raids, it can be used a lot. A build I'd recommend for him is Special Spiral - Blue Flame & the rest is flexible. That way, you can consistently proc Blue Flame & score high in Arena with whatever you like.
Overall, Saber is one of those units who made me actually spend the fat stack of Divine Dew I was sitting on, & for a free Distant Counter; I'm not gonna complain. I don't think I've ever been this hyped for a refine in ages, & I'm glad I could be able to be fortunate enough to get this old hag off of my bench after so long.
