Well... This turd of a week may but be so bad after all! Defense results are carrying me! 3 no loss defenses, 140 loss total. We're in range of an OK final rank.
Fight 1: Spent a considerable amount of time trying to figure out how the computer would move, did see the Restore on Veronica that would come into play, saw the fact that Azura could use her aerobatics to jump up, I just didn't see the aerobatics guidance combo. Even then I didn't think I would die. Surtr ended up dying by three HP Overkill so it was really close. In the end though, it didn't really matter the whole team was magic so Fjorm and Friends could handle the rest. 20 points lost. Needed only 5 more Aether to unlock the 2nd bonus fight (I think I said third in the video... No it was the second... We are not able to get the third this season...). Aside: In the video I was confused about how Azura was getting attack and speed buffs, it was Veronica's special. Derp.
Fight 2: Really easy... Just not a well crafted defense. Many issues. Aether right in front, non-optimal trap placement, huge walls to hide behind, questionable units (what in the world did that Odin provide?). Not trying to be mean to this player, but there's plenty of room for improvement here. Anyway, the most important issue is the fact that you can bait the left side and completely take out the only two units that are really intimidating.
Status:
- 13 fights down, 2 to go
- 140 defense loss total
- 220 offensive loss total (Eww... This is sad...)
- No ladders remain
- Tier 23 is now locked in, no chance to go higher or lower
- Only thing now at stake is rank; it'll be interesting to see how the new influx of tier 21 players will affect the final rankings; I'll go over this in the retrospective video I do at the end of the week and compare previous historical finishes to where we are now to see how easy it is to get top 3000
