Here are my thoughts on the Ayra situation.
Powercreep!
Scummy business tactics!
Lack of transparency!
Powercreep!
I still love the game though, so I hope it recovers from this and has a good future, preferably without repeating this mistake.

ayra is just stupidly op. good bulk, ragnell Astra, fastest unit, high attack, deflect magic and then you're done. agh. why?

  Midrock she’s not the fastest actually. But she’s basically better than lon,qu and caeda in every way. Mainly because she actually has an attack stat.

I really just wish Sigurd's Tyrfing could be inherited to Seliph since Seliph is supposed to be stronger. This Choose your legends treatment to everyone and this one new unit on a banner crap is a bad sign.

It's usually not what developer do to piss people off, but how they do it.
All developers need to find a balance between paid end-game-stage players and F2P casual players. As of the recent releases of 4 brave heroes + Black Knight, it provided the F2P community a chance to challenge the top tiers gamers. BraveIke addressed the abusive brave weapon spam (which destroyed the variety of all colorless and most blue units) and BraveLyn gives new players a easier time to play in the world of distance counter spam (which destroyed almost all melee unit builds that are not brave-weapon-based). Then BK just flat out replaces basically all armor units with 1. Yes, Effie and Hector are still super units, but that's not changing the fact that BK is on the same ground.
I can see the paid-player-community prob getting frustrated that they are not special anymore. The overwhelming advantage is cut in 1/2 or diminished with a few weeks' time. They need to pay more to be able to have 7 teams ready to counter BraveIke, BraveLyn and Reinhardt.
So, developer come up with a big spending solution, "you can buy yourself out of the mud". We will give you big supporters a special ticket with super high wall, so nobody else comes thru (except for Phoenixmaster... haha). We release Siguard so it drained everyone's existing orbs. Then we release a red unit with Ayra to block free-riders from getting Ayra too easily.... No it's not like Inigo is still good when you miss Darkzura.... it's someone that nobody really cares....

Now if you pay $2000 you will get a +10 Ayra that basically 1-hit-kill everything in the game even if you are color-blind.

That's how i see this Ayra situation unfolds. If it were not BraveLyn, BraveIke and BK devastating the paid-player's advantage, Ayra would be introduced in Tempest, not that..... armor whoever.

What makes this game fun is how I can take my favorite characters in FE and tailor them to my liking and make them viable. Now we have nearly a dozen new characters with exclusive skills and weapons to make other characters obsolete. Yuri Lowenthal would be sad how weak Lon'qu is now.

Talk about the real problem of all the other Fagtubers spending money for this character, so that IS will do it again. If you summoned on this banner even a dime's worth of your money, you are the real problem.

Dude people are pissed cus they assumed shed be a tempest trial unit. If there was no datamining there would be no uproar either lmao, also to those saying bla bla unfair shouldve been in the banner with sigurd cus they spend all orbs on that, nobody forces you to use all ur orbs on a banner the first day its out. Impatient pewps be loco

Done some calcs comparing Ayra and Ryoma, in every situation Ryoma now loses. The problem I have with this is that Ryoma, Ike, BK and a bunch of other red swords had their niche. Yes, Ryoma was slightly stronger in current meta, but Ayra has just obliterated the whole meta. There is no reason to pick any other infantry sword, Ayra is just superior... Only BK remains for his high BST.
