Overwatch 2 News is beginning to pick up! Officially the circa-beta deadline has been set in time for the Overwatch League start next year, April 22 2022, the league will be playing on an Early Build of the game. What does that mean for the state of development? Was Metro WRONG with the progress the team has made? It will certainly be revealing if there's tons of PvP changes that are still to come well into 2022, where it could be the case that Overwatch PvP 2.0 isn't fully released until 2023 like Metro assumed if they develop as it comes out -- that's a certain possibility I don't really see most people assume is on the table.

Breaking: the 2022 Overwatch League season plan is to be played on “an early build of Overwatch 2,” a league spokesperson told The Dallas Morning News this morning. That means a form of OW2 will come by April 2022.

I've seen a lot of speculation regarding a 2022 start date for OWL. We can confirm that our plan is to begin next season in April 2022. We will share more details about 2022 roster construction timelines soon and more info generally on our 2022 season as we get closer to April.
