Wrecking Ball aka Hammond will be swinging into the meta game as soon as tomorrow rocking your Overwatch Gameplay experience. But what may be even more impactful are HUGE ranged buffs to a handful of heroes mccree, mei, soldier, bastion with the biggest winner of them all in our estimation is McCree, who now, alongside a few minor buffs to Hanzo and Widowmaker to tune them down, brings comparable burst firepower especially at medium range. You cannot understate how instant a McCree 2-tap can be and how reliable top McCrees can crank out the dps with no charge time as opposed to Widow or Hanzo who have to wind up their primary attack before shooting. Most of the game is played at Medium range, and with the reigns removed from McCree's dropoff he's going to absolutely be scary. Widow and Hanzo are still strong, however with Hammond swinging into action, you're going to want to have cc (crowd control) a lot of time in order to stop dive dead in their tracks because Hammond, like Jason Vorhees relentlessly pursues his victims. It used to be that Widow could parry back, escape and land a headshot. Hammond however, ducks his head hitbox when in pursuit making for his hardened shell to be FAR more effective against Widow than it will be against McCree, although in either case successfully landing a dive always gets kills. Thus creates the next meta, where dive sees a huge boon with the quick impact Wrecking Ball brings, but also alongside a ton of powerful DPS picks being viable at the same time. We've had quite the rock paper scissors meta recently, and that trend seems to be continuing, but making each playstyle sharper and more severe in effect.
