I am all for inclusion and pride, I love seeing a character be gay, bi like me, lesbian, or whatever you sexuality might be. But it has to be done RIGHT. Incorporate it into their story, add smth to their personality, hint at it through voicelines. I guess the upside is that Blizzard seems to have learned from just slapping the bi label on S76 and calling it a day. Baptiste, be it minimal luckily has some fruity voicelines. Pharah was already rumored to be bi or gay, and Tracer had it woven into her story and the actual game with Emily. DOPE! But even with this I can't shake the feeling that it's just a box to tick off on a finance checklist. "announce new season, announce cancelation of PvE, do smth for pride, bring back summer games."

I know there will be people who are just happy in general to see a character be like them, or be able to relate to them, and I'm glad that people are happy about that. I just wish lgbt wasn't effectively turned into a corporate sticker for mass-approval.

I find there a bit of hypocrisy in their statement of "Wanting a world the represents a world they want to be a part of" and then never adds an openly religious character that is Christian, or Muslim? Do they not feel like these people don't deserve to be represented? They are fine appropriating religious themes and texts to be used in their Diablo franchise (such a Belial being named after a Corinthians verse) but suddenly are committed to absolute secularism in "the world they want to be a part of" as though this world doesn't have any religious people at all.

Also, when it comes to bap and pharah, whilst everyone kinda already speculated as much, it's just as easy to say anything else in terms of their sexualities, and honestly doesn't mean much. Being gay isn't something that I feel should be a "reveal", doing it that way is honestly kinda proving that they're just doing it to try and appeal to people who are mad over PvE

what no hetro flag, I don't feel represented in game. lol. I also think its in poor taste that California's myopic view of the world should be pushed on everyone else. but whatever gives them the points to maintain ESG rating I suppose
