With the MASSIVE nerf to armor and Brigitte, nerf to Dva and a potentially terrifying buff to Reaper, it's safe to say, Damage Heroes are BACK! in a big way. In today's meta discussion we look at the new interactions in the Overwatch meta game and conclude that Reaper is devastatingly good in some cases, especially on Ladder. The 50% lifesteal has some incredible interactions with duels and when you start to add in damage amp, heal amp from nade or Nanoboost, it's over, Reaper is a serious monster in brawls, but will need some help at the pro level to even come close to dealing with the GOATs meta, as he needs either a mei or sombra to help isolate or disable the tanks so he can actually deal his incredible damage. But no fear, Sombra gets a big boon in effectiveness at farming tanks for EMP after this armor nerf, meaning that setting her up, with really any damage follow up will be able to disable GOATs incredible defenses. But that doesn't make Reaper a top meta pick however, instead most maps with sightlines will be dominated by the new and improved double sniper Widow Ashe combo which is even scarier than it's previous incarnation with Hanzo. Flanker DPS will see sparing use but Tracer, despite Brig being worse, will still struggle to see play outside of 3DPS, which will require D.Va to be pushed out of the way, until then Dva will hold team comps together with her infinite damage blocking potential, even aided by a brig if needed. Overall, it's good to see a meta shake up in time for Overwatch League, but oddly enough it may just largely re balance the game to be back to a similar spot it was in Season 1.
