Overwatch: NEW Anniversary Event Details! - Did Blizzard Kill Role Lock?

NEW Overwatch 2019 Anniversary Event details came out today identifying the release date to launch the event is a short 3 days away! May 21st the event goes live and with it, we will receive the D.Va skin that will "break the internet" along with a repeat of the past years events in the arcade, but even better, the Workshop may be going live soon maybe as early as the launch day of the event itself which will be a MASSIVE buff to the arcade. Bad news, looks like no role lock for Overwatch League Stage 3, and perhaps the entirety of Season 2 ("the 2019 season" they hate it when you call it season 2 for some reason, they act like it's been around 50 years) as to not make the patch that settles the season one on a completely different patch. Play nothing but GOATS 3-3 for 3 or 4 stages just to have it nerfed into the ground for the playoffs? Maybe they'll do that, but it'll pretty lame. Not to mention, there hasn't been any balance changes on the PTR for a long time, so it's not going away Stage 3. All of this makes it seem like Role Lock MAY have been considered, going through the channels but cut short by someone in the chain of command at Blizzard or the Overwatch League. Complicated stuff, at least we can get trading cards for OWL tho! What's more exciting than reading stat cards for how much 3-3 sumo wrestling brawl damage a zarya has done in a melee mirror?! No? 2 points of clarification of the video that were cut out of the video to reduce length: I don't have anything against Haloofthoughts, I don't really know him or his work, however there was a bit of Drama with a previous post/leak he made, Jayne took issue with it (similar to my criticisms of his writing style in the 2/2/2 piece) linked in desc. Also linked, Houston Outlaws tweeted a meme/joke about 2-2-2 the other day and promptly deleted it (but I screen capped it), this indicates sources were correct that OWL wants teams to quash 2-2-2 role lock rumors, not toy around or hint anything because it's NOT happening.
