Role Queue with role dependent SR has had a bit of a rocky start. Off-Role's have been a bit of a struggle to rate accurately for the system and now, with Season 18 launching yesterday it came out completely broken, effectively giving an MMR reset with many Top 500 players put into Gold games, which made for some seriously ugly gameplay. Because of this, Blizzard has pushed the official role queue season 18 launch back, it's delayed until the bugs can be fixed "early next week" which either means in the next two days or perhaps even as late as actually next week (hard to tell, they posted it on a Saturday, making the timeline a bit ambiguous of what they meant *forum posts haven't been the most accurate recently remember). MMR works pretty darn well in Overwatch when it has time to pan out and if anything the system boosts people too high, not holds them back too low, so although many want MMR to be reset, all it would accomplish is MANY more terrible games until things returned to basically where they were originally anyway. The system produces solo queue minded players, rated on their individual value on their heroes not necessarily on their value as a teammate (removing the limits on teaming up in Ranked would obliterate this and align the SR incentives towards teamwork, but we don't have time for logical solutions).
