PSO2 - Katana Photon Arts [Outdated]

These are all the katana photon arts as of the first Episode 2 update.

Recording and editing was sort of rushed on this one, I'm still trying to push levels on my Braver. Text might be a bit hard to read and so on. I'll do a proper one (in Forest instead of the Campship) once more PAs get released.

And yes, there are only 6 PAs right now.

The Katana weapon definetly came from the 7th Dragon series, and also the Sakura Wars series.

Here are the possible meanings of the names with the possible Kanji characters.

Tsukimi Sazanka = 月見山茶花 = Moon viewing Camellia sasanqua.
Gekka Zakuro = 月下ざくろ = Under the Moon(light) Punica granatum.
Kanran Kikyou = 観覧吉凶 = Viewing Fortune.
Sakura Endo = 桜エンド = Sakura End.
Hien Tsubaki = 飛燕椿 = Secret garden (/Vagina) Camellia japonica.
Asagiri Rendan = 朝霧連弾 = Four handed piano performance.

Kanran Kikyou = Viewing Platycodon (ballon flower)
Hien Tsubaki = Flying Swallow with Camellia Japonica
Asagiri Rendan = Continuation attack with Satiny Wormwood (Mugwort)

You have to have Braver as your main or sub class.

But the PAs and weapons are just random drops when you have Braver as your main class.

I also want to ask questions 😀 I plan on focusing katana in braver...but feel like fighter class is cool because of the double saber... Should i go for br/hu or br/fi? Which allows more dmg output? And.... if i want fighter, should i subclass hunter at lvl20 then complete fighter CO at lvl30?

  BR/FI can work, Fighter does get you decent stat boosts but they're extremely conditional. You can get +40% frontal/-20% rear or +60% rear/-20% frontal, meaning positioning matters a lot more. Then you can have Chase Advance for +55% damage on an enemy with a status effect.
  
  But that's the issue, how specific the boosts are. A lot of the times it's impossible to always be in the right position for Brave/Wise stance. On top of that in order to get the Chase skills to work you likely need to affix your weapons for status, which will usually require 3 slots and cost a lot more.
  
  This is compared to the +95% damage on Fury Stance JAs you can get with Hunter. The only downside is you have to JA (should be doing this regardless) and that you take a bit more damage. Otherwise you always get the max damage boost, and it's only a bit behind the best case scenario of a Wise+Chase Fighter (and equal or better in all other scenarios).
  
  Note: I'm assuming boosts stack additively instead of multiplicatively. It's just easier to do the math like this.
  
  The other issue is all class weapons are always a bit iffy in terms of stats. Just by using a sub FI you're killing a lot of damage potential on DA, and that'll very likely make it inferior to just Hatou spamming with your Katana.
  
  Like you can either do BR/FI and lag somewhat behind in katana and DSabre damage, or you can do both BR/HU and FI/HU and be able to switch to use one or the other at close to full potential.
  
  But yeah, getting BR to 30 with HU subclassed is the best way to go around it. BR unlocks the FI, TE, and GU unlock quests at 30 while HU only gets FI.

  BR/FI works, but it will have lower damage than BR/HU due to the situational nature of it's damage boosts. You can go for it, but just getting HU leveled as well and switching between BR/HU and FI/HU depending on your mood is what I'd suggest (and what I do).

  +Invertex Don't worry! Your analysis were fantastic and comprehensive. Have you seen the recent patch with the introduction of two more PAs with katana? I(if you have tried it out) are they good? Are they good replacement of the current PA or are we better off without them? ( which main PAs should I be assigning to my katana?)
  
  I am currently lvl.14 ... what are the best ways of lvling quickly(should I even care about the minor quests and matter order?)
  
  Another concern that comes to my mind is what weapons should I be feeding my mag when playing br/hu?
  
  Last but not least( hehe) , are all-class weapons and rare items hard to get??

  - New PAs are getting released next week. Shunka-Shunran has some potential, Fudou-Kuchinashi is likely useless due to Kanran.
  
  - Kanran Kikyou is your best "trash" mob clearer. It has good AoE, is fast, and has a knockup making it safe. Hatou Rindou (rare PA) is your best bossing move, and does absurd damage. Sakura End is also decent for bossing, though it's not as good as Hatou.
  
  - Just do quests as they become available, and make sure to do Koffee COs whenever they pop up as they award a lot of EXP. Matter Board is optional, I still haven't done much, but it does offer some good items for affixing.
  
  - Generally you can either make an Abl Mag and use the Braver Mag skill to balance it out or you can make a SAtk Mag. For the first feed it PA disks only, for the second feed it orange weapons (katana, gunslash, HU/FI weapons) and use 4* furniture to keep Abl down.
  
  - Depends on the weapon in particular. There are "rare" 10* items which are only worth 100k and some which are worth over 30m. The drop rate is pretty bad for the best ones.

  PSO2 doesn't race or gender lock it's weapons and classes, so yes.
