FF XIV : ARR : Advanced Summoner Guide

Hello and welcome to my advance summoner guide for some techniques that I've come up with to maximize DPS. I hope you enjoy and find it useful.

Please do not take this guide as the end all to guides, it is merely for educational purposes. I encourage people to find more ways to maximize efficiency as I am still learning new things every day.

I don't know why the video clips seem to glitch out, I couldn't find a way to fix them and I apologize for that.

You should open with rouse and spur while tank running and immediately hit raging as he hits boss so garuda will have effect and not lose dps. but great vid otherwise

I used to do that opener for a long time without the energy drain, but I've found that using

RS>Bio>Bio 2>Miasma>Fester>Ruin 2>SC>Shadowflare>Ruin2>Miasma 2>Bio>Fester+Contagion

Is superior since you get a full buffed Bio the whole duration of the opener, then anothher Bio at the end of it buffed with RS.

Why are you doing Ruin 1 followed by Ruin 2? There is no point to doing that plus you are using more MP. Also, Miasma 2 adds to the damage Fester does and should be up with Bio 1&2 and Miasma if max damage is what you're going for.

I was out after he really tried to call stutter stepping/orb walking the same thing as animation canceling. Fyi, its not.

If you have something to add do so, if all you are going to do is insult someone for being a "fat kid" re-evaluate your position here. Also, what is the difference between stutter stepping and orb walking? How about you explain as opposed to just whining.

bio 2-->miasma-->bio-->spur rouse, contagion--> swift,shadow flare -->raging strike, (int potion), eye for eye, enkindle--> ruin2 --> fester, virus

  I didn't know that raging strikes increases the dots, so my mistake but problem of miasma 2 is, you have to go to the opponent but in your rotation, it is no problem as I see. Nice, have to test the effect of raging strike, and contagion+miasma 2 later. Didn't knew that XD but thanks for the information

  No problem 🙂 Ya, if I can't get to the boss I leave miasma 2 out. Usually though it's pretty easy to sprint up after bio and hit miasma 2. If you can't get miasma 2 in it won't be a game changer haha.

  +Clay Norrbin Btw you could cast fester after miasma 2 with contagion, cause sometimes, at least it happens to me,if I cast fester with bio, I cast fester to early so I lose 100 dmg. But it is not necessary

  Ya I hate the delay of bio registering. I cast fester around one second after bio, right after I see it pop up on the enemies debuff bar. I have the timing down now though so it just feels natural. The reason for trying to fit it in is to get a second fester in raging strikes. Getting dots> fester> fester all in raging strikes is possible but you only have 1 second extra of wiggle room

  +Clay Norrbin you was right raging strikes gives a dot about 40+ dmg. Don't know if it affects shadowflame but it gets casted while rs is on. if you have a good timing, do a stutter step while casting miasma, to apply miasma 2 you eventually get another second of wiggle room. fester has to be casted after bio , cause you cant cast 2 festers in rs, youre right in that too. Another thing is, if your shadowflame gets of, you should hard cast it, cause its more effectiv then one ruin. thats all I changed in my rotation(potions will come soon) and I think its perfect. thank you again for the good tip with rs amd miasma 2+ contagion :)

Mehhhhhhhhhhhh. Using Garuda is overrated. There's no reason to use Garuda for the majority of your end game content. Bads use Garuda because they suck at micro and then lean on the excuse that it's a numbers game in favor of Contagion. It's already been proven MANY times that Ifrit is a solid contender but requires a different rotation and more situational awareness and micro.

  +iseethereforiam self I agree, I think Ifrit is a much better pick now specifically with the Physical weapon dmg growth from 2.2 to 2.5.
