Ikazuchi was super excited to celebrate the holidays with you all! She decided to try on a new outfit to celebrate the event!
This outfit was actually quite the experience to put together. Both are because of the physics engine I use in Blender. The first challenge was the shawl on Ikazuchi's shoulders. The physics engine I use is very good with skirts and dresses, but the way her arms move make it a bit awkward to deal with. I had to attached a few invisible tethers to keep the edges on top of her arms and the part down her back to be in about the right position. I think I could have done a better job with some more practice, but I think it worked well enough.
The second thing was the "fluff" all over her dress. Normally, such things would not work with the physics that I use since they are not physically connected to the mesh itself. However, I used Blender's hair generator to spawn a bunch of little balls that looked fluffy and ringed them all along the edges of the dress and shawl. You have no idea how excited and happy I was when I was able to get that to work.
