Hey Jeff, I'm a little confused. I remember chatting with a Pontiac guy a few years ago and he told me Pontiac engines need very little in building up. He told me you gain nothing with an aluminum intake and high performance carb on most Pontiac blocks. From what I remember, he said Pontiac makes one of the best intake manifolds ever. Guys are known for hitting incredible numbers at the tracks with a stock cast iron intake and Rochester 4bbl. He said a nice cam and a dual exhaust is all you need with a 428, your thoughts??

  That is somewhat true...the factory intake, and especially a ported factory intake, will outperform many aluminum intakes, like the Edelbrock Performer. If he wanted an aftermarket intake, he should have used the Performer RPM...it will beat the factory intakes and the regular Performer. Also, in this case he used the Edelbrock aluminum heads, which are another variable that you have to account for. No matter what, he definitely took some weight off the front of the car and I'm sure the total package outperforms a stock set up considerably.

Yep, probably be sticking to the seats in summer. It is a nice car for the money though. Should be a blast to drive. Thanks for watching!

Those pre-1970 GM muscle cars were (are) a real beauty. And as convertibles look gorgeous as they do not look as bathtubs when the roof is down.

Why a 428 in a Pontiac? You want a hot engine in a 67 put in the Pontiac 421 super duty! Way hot, way right. Also in 67 think the right small v8 was the 326 not the 350.
