We have a new update with new Weapon Refines. This batch is one that I've been really anticipating, but does it meet the hype? Let's find out as we analyze and rank the refines of Spring Veronica, Tibarn, Selkie, Ylgr, and Aversa!

Edit: I've unfortunately misread Foxkit Fang's weapon description as the Res check is visible and you only need to outstat by Res in order to get all stats to be buffed. That does change the build (probably want Atk/Res Menace for the C or Res Smoke as a budget option), but it doesn't really change how I feel about the refine overall. Very sorry about that.

Aversa, easily, I have a + 10 merge with some premium skills like spd res hold, spd res trace and so on. The new plegian effect can make her inflict over 80 stats worth of debuffs (assuming she can panic over enemy visible buffs)

  Aversa definitely got a pretty solid and thematically amazing refine. I personally wish she had something more supportive though, like what Ylgr had to be honest.

  @DTM - FEH yeah could have been better but at least it isn't something like the original refines back in the day, such as +5 spd/def if hp is 100% from Leif's weapon or anything similar

I gotta say, I know these reviews are looking at the unit overall in diferent situations, but right now as it is, some of the most powerful units in the game are green, range or both, and I feel that could be taken into account a bit more with Aversa seeing how she just turned into not only a very offensive unit, but also a very defensive one. Like, yeah, she can now one shot Lynja or L!MByleth, but the more important thing (imo) is fact that she can also tank them with a hand on her hip, and that is very valuable considering tanking has been really pushed back on the recent years thanks to these kinds of units.

  Do think she has a very solid refine and will do well, but personally I just wished she had a more supportive refine to double down on that role, sort of what Ylgr had. I think I would have liked that better.

If I've heard right what you said about Selkie, then you've got it all wrong; the first effect (80% difference) is just between *visible* res, meaning that she only needs 10 points of res more than the opponent to get the full +12 spectrum, she doesn't need 10 more points in each stat. Additionally the res check has to be visible, so she prefers fortress def res or B duel cavalry 4 to max out her visible res as much as possible. This also is why res-based menaces are really good on her, they don't change in combat stats but visible stats, making the check a joke

  Thank you very much for the information. Yeah I misread Foxkit Fang based on the description. While that does change the build slightly like preferring Atk/Res Menace over Fatal Smoke (or Res Smoke as a budget option), I don't think it changes too much about how I feel about the refine overall. I don't know how well these units will be in the metagame, but Aversa definitely sells it for me. I just wish I had a spare Palla to kill.
