MORE NERFS TEASED!? Should Renathal worry? Is Druid doomed?

Blizzard just teased that additional nerfs are incoming soon, and I wanted to take a look at which cards might be be changed based on the meta and data.

Please for the love of God get rid of tome tampering. It's not a very interesting deck to play and has been shredding wild.

Honestly, I don't think Renathal is that much of an issue. Even with his pretty high play rate and you can identify what deck archetype they might be straight from the presence of Renathol, but right now 40 card decks aren't too consistent.

I typically don't run him just because I'd rather have the more consistent deck but, with aggro and rushdown still being so present, he might be a necessary evil to keep at his full power.

I don’t think Dk needs buffed honestly, I’ve been playing DK since the start of the xpac, 90% of the DK cards are good, but the nerfs to Druid and rogue will help out a lot and a nerf to brann in whatever form will help the meta to bring it to a more balanced state.

The biggest offender in these miracle rogue decks is shadowstep, it’s what what allows these turn 1/2 insane combos to happen. shadowstep keeps popping up as a problem card, not sure how it has remained unchanged all these years.

I'm really hoping they nerf Renathal... By making him 45 health 45 cards. Or just wild like 200 health 100 cards or something like that...

(please don't actually do this, Blizzard. the Prince is fine where he is.)

Astalor going to 10 when he has Manathirst (10) seems counterintuitive. I mean, sure, it'd affect discounts if you can do that, but in general the whole Manathirst becomes irrelevant. At that point, it might as well just say "Battlecry: Deal 16 damage randomly split between all enemies."

My biggest issue with Astallor is the fact that his Manathirst is written in a way such that his boosted Battlecry gets doubled with Brann. 2 mana and 5 mana Astallor don't get their Manathirst effects doubled so the card design actually becomes more consistent with this nerf and truly curtails the damage output. My friend and I were talking about how in Anub'Rekhan Druid, we actually cut Denathrius because Astallor does the same job but better. Additionally, if Brann gets nerfed in parallel, I don't think you'd have to do a mana change to Astallor that ruins the design aesthetic of the card.

  Couple additional things to add before I get flamed in the comments: we cut Denathrius from the 30-card turbo combo Druid, not the grindier Renathal version.
  
  To put into perspective how much the Manathirst rewrite makes sense: Let's say you're Guff and you have 13 mana, and your opponent has been keeping your armor in check so you only have the 5 gained from Guff. You play Brann, Astallor (2), Anub'Rekhan, Astallor (5). You have 4x Astallor (8)s in your hand. The most amount you can play in this position is two, because you don't have enough armor to pay (16-5+5-8-8 < 8 armor needed for Astallor #3). You can play something like Underking to generate free armor (mana), but now you have 6 minions on the field and not enough room for Astallor #3. So unnerfed Astallor x2 would deal 64 damage, obliterating any enemy minions on the field and the rest of the enemy hero's health. With my proposed change, 2x Astallor would deal 32. I feel this is still an absurd amount of damage, but is more reasonable, especially for more aggressive classes like Demon Hunter, Combo Rogue, or Curve/Dragon Pally that don't play Renathal and don't have intrinsic ways of gaining armor to get above 30 health, because these same classes are also more likely to have minions that play for the board that will likely soak up some of the damage. Granted, they will only have one turn to contend with the board and the extra two Astallors waiting in the wings for next turn, but it's better than outright dying. And this is all assuming Druid has less than 8 armor before beginning their combo because in this case, they CAN play the third Astallor, but I still believe that this nerf is the most logical in terms of balance while also retaining the heart of the card design.
