Really wish they'd give tech cards like razorscale at least enough stats/power to not be completely useless. It's a 3 mana 2/4, it might as well not have text,that it wouldn't feel that different. It's already for a niche use. I get that tech cards can't be too strong, to avoid making them ruin archetype, but there can be a balance between too strong and so weak it doesn't matter

Pretty sure flame behemoth is going to be pretty decent tbh. I think the word 'random' is scaring you a little more than it should cause even in wild the magnetic pool is pretty good. The cards you get are pretty much always going to be doing more or less what you want them to do, not necessarily on that turn but if not you always get a massive push next turn with those magnetic mechs. Often this is just a 2 mana 4/5 that generated you 2 cards that are actually guaranteed to fit your game plan. I think you only ever feel really bad about it if it generates you a skater-bot or glow-tron honestly.

Despite Forge sharing the same "base-line" mechanic as Tradeable (where you drag the card over your deck and pay a fixed mana cost for an effect) i think ultimately that Tradeable and Forged are too different functionally for this to work out as intended. Of course the expansion isn't out yet as i'm writing this comment so nobody truly knows the actual effect Forge will have on the metagame of Hearthstone and it's very much possible that the design "issues" i have with this new keyword won't matter or be relevant at all. This is really just me spitballing or being an arm chair game designer. I could very well be wrong, but these are my thoughts nonetheless.

As far as i can tell Tradeable works because there's built in randomness associated with it's effect. You know you'll get a new card sure (and maybe a small effect like reducing the cost of a random spell in hand by 1 or giving a minion on board rush) but you don't know what card you're gonna get so it's hard to abuse due to that lack of consistency yet the power of being able to draw a card is so powerful that the effect will never be truly bad either.

With Forge cards on the other hand, you know exactly what you're gonna get (unless the forged card does something random) which means the effect has to be worth 2 mana for people to be willing to play the card. If it's not, the card just won't be played, if the effect is worth more than 2 mana, then everyone will play it if possible. This leaves relatively low wiggle room for design space when it comes to what a Forge card can and can't do and as such i can't help but wonder if it perhaps would've been a better idea for the Forge effect's mana cost to be different for each card depending on how good the effect is.

"All" you have to do is add a number next to the word Forge as an indicator of how much mana it'll cost to Forge this particular card. With Forge effects having a flexible mana cost i think it'll be easier to make fun, playable and neither bad nor broken Forge cards (as you can tailor the cost to the effect and change it based on the cards perfomance rather than necessarily having to nerf the effect itself) and it also allows you to make a huge variety of low , mid and high impact forge effects instead of it having to be roughly worth the 2 mana.

Containment unit is gonna go hard in deathrattle decks. Would've been great if Rogue still had that 'draw 5' card.

These are some really garbage cards. They wouldn't have been played years ago, let alone in 2023.
