Love your videos Sty and have done for years butt this video had me thinking with every complaint about Overwatch 1 that you brought up sounded like they should simplify Overwatch down so much that it should just become another bland FPS game. I know you weren't getting at that, but I almost thought you were going to say it at some point.

It just feels like the devs should take a really original game with, yep at times, complex mechanics and water it down for the masses who just want to shoot. I hope they don't do that but I'm worried it will become another run of the mill game if the strip away the magic of the original game.

I'll tell ya, a big reason some of the best FPS players don't rank high and dropped the game is because the game doesn't reward mechanical skill. Valorant is also a team based shooter, but it's almost entirely dependent on mechanical skill. So, yea, of course someone who is highly trained in aiming at heads is going to have a harder time when you're supposed to be playing the character that literally freezes people to a halt, or any of the other plethora of characters with CC, in a game that was supposed to be a shooter. It's not anymore btw, and it hasn't been in a while...
OW is to shooters what Smash Bros is to fighting games, a party game. Except at least with Smash Bros they actually make attempts to balance the game and has actual competitive integrity.

Ow 2 MUST teach people about the different roles like projectile dps , hitscan dps, main support, flex support and main tank and off tank ...(wait nvm) ...

kindly, it just sounds like peoples' problem, and what you've brought up, is the game itself. It's a team game, and all of the complaints were with the elements that you learn in order to work better with your team, or in order to commit to actions that benefit your team as a whole. Being able to plink heads or navigate the map well isn't enough anymore. Honestly if the problem with the game is literally the game itself then I'd rather just see it die than become another COD clone or valorant or whatever. The people who are still playing, especially on the ladder, like the game for what it is and aren't looking for it to be shaved down for ease - especially those losing tank duos, as many of them seem to be very apprehensive about the loss of that teamwork element. Feels like a real shame that people can't put themselves aside enough to learn to work together. Genuinely, kill the game instead pls.

I think the current SR system we have rn is ok, but could be better. If it could reward you with more SR for larger contributions and less SR if your just getting boosted that would be a better way to determine ones rank. And it could work in vice versa, where people who performed well but unfortunately lost wouldn't loose as much as those actively trolling or throwing. For example if a support carried their team having insane amounts of healing and little deaths would receive 45SR and the DPS Moira with loads of deaths and 10 healing would get 5SR.

Honestly I dont care about streamers or some competitive league. I hate the fact already that OW which was such a unique game is trying to just "dum down" gameplay.

I feel like, a quick fix for the game sense problem is to do what League does with their tutor and have micro bits of information that pertains to gamesense, in situations on the map.

As an example, in terms of learning when to die, there could be an arrow pm the ground, pointing you where to go. Like the payload line but for the player. You spawn on the first point of a map (in my head it's Temple of Annubis). You walk a forward and see 5 of the enemy kill 3/4 of your teammates. Then a pop-up could appear and inform you of what regrouping is and when you should retreat. That's when the arrow on the ground shifts and tells you to go in the opposite way. Once you hit a certain spot your AI teammates will be there and once you stand with them the tutorial ends.

Something quick and easy like that could be a good starting point for teaching new players about the things that Overwatch has, that most other shooters don't.

A guild sytem with maybe a calendar ingame like wow should nto be that hard, just go cnkock the front office...
And a repawn system like Wow battelgrounds could at least partially fix the stagger problem, ad for sure the "infinite repswn contest" of 2cp

When they first announced the pve for ow2, they mentioned a skill tree that changes how the character plays and my first thought was that they were going to do something like the CoD blops games used to have in pvp - where you choose a loadout of perks/weapons (or in this case modified abilities and ultimates) and you can change them in between lobbies.

Imagine if you could switch between Reinhardt's current single use fire strike or the two-tap cooldown version between games. It would be a bitch and a half to balance, granted, and they almost definitely couldn't very well do it with the current version of the game 1 or 2 as we know them but it would still be a cool idea imo. And that would add so many new dynamics to the game that I don't think most people would complain about only getting one or two new characters a year or something. Just a thought
