TLDR; We're not entitled to play the BETA.

I understand that people are upset that the game has only gotten 3 new heroes and a few maps, but people really need to understand that Overwatch as it is, isn't built to have continuous updates. Yeah, sure they can add heroes and maps but like Stylosa has been saying, they weren't making money. If you were to be working at X job for no pay, you'd probably quit. Now I know this isn't the same but even with everything that has been going on inside of Blizzard the devs did not give up on the game entirely. Say what you want but these devs had/have a passion for the game and want to continue to make content for it. The communication is better but still lacking, it's getting there. The content isn't what people wanted but people were really expecting too much.

This game is just trying to get back on its own wheels and people are getting upset over how the BETA is being handled. This isn't a release or early release, its A BETA. If you truly want to see this game come back, and can afford to support the devs, then by all means purchase the pack or just wait 1-2 weeks. I like how everyone is expressing what they like and don't like but at the end of the day these early BETA releases are for the community, they could have very well released the first BETA in October, but they didn't. The devs wanted to give to the community so now it's on the community to give back to the devs so we can enjoy the game and continue to receive updates.

PS I'm really bad at writing so some stuff may make sense, and some won't. Hopefully my smoof brain was able to smash keys properly here

Damn y’all are impossible to please bro they give us the game pretty much early (just like how so many people asked to just give us pvp and pve later) and everyone complains it’s not enough kinda insane if you ask me

As much as I'd like a huge drop of new heroes all at once, I can understand if they're concerned about balance. Individual heroes have completely broken the game when they were released or in patches soon after, so adding 5-7 of them at once, on top of reworks, 5v5, new maps, would probably be chaos. Possible good, fun chaos, but probably bad enough to hurt early reviews and potential sales.

I'd prefer a more specific guarantee of content. So far they haven't promised any more than 6 heroes between now and 2024 (3 in season 1, 1 in season 2, but then for all of 2023 we just have "heroes". How many? 2? 20? They're promising more clarity before October but really we need more clarity before the next beta wave.

I’m kind of glad that they are only releasing a few heroes at a time because I gave the thought that exhausting so many new heroes upon the games beginning would drain the excitement much quicker. Specifically, by giving out large amounts of content upon a game’s beginning, you drain the amount of ideas that could be given for future content and reduces the impact on the community overall. While I hate the more spread out approach they’ve went for and had for years in OW1, it makes sense from a logical standpoint in the midst of the companies decisions.

I have to also admit that they have to do something about the legendary OW edition being included in the bundle, especially to those who’ve owned the game, which I bet plenty of people have considering it won GOTYA twice in a row. I own that version of the game and now considering buying the bundle but I feel reluctant because of the fact I spent $20 on the game when it went on sale and now I have to waste another $40 to even have some fun and maybe some decent content. If anything, I would’ve solved the idea by adding something beneficial to those who already own the legendary edition, that way, many who’ve bought the game don’t feel like they’ve wasted money. It’s either that or just lower the price to 20 bucks and remove the legendary edition’s inclusion.

On the BP screen we have been shown you can see the 2020 Atlantic all stars rein skin, does this mean have wasted money on it before when I can just get it in this new BP for a most likely discounted price? If so this could happen with other 'exclusive skins'. Also we can see Lucio's player icon from OW1 in the OW2 BP so are we going to have to purchase all the 'new look' character skins for OW2? I sincerely hope that the challenges don't rely on playing comp and that you can complete them through play quick play. Myself and majority of my friends and a good chunk of overwatches player base, do not play comp and do not want to for multiple reasons (only want to play casually, don't like the competitive environment, and for myself and most of my girl and gay friends- don't like the toxicity). So it would be horrific if you could only go through the battlepass/challenges by playing comp.

the most disappointing thing about 3 heroes is the lack of supports..
we've been promised supports for Such a long time and now we get... one?
We will have 8 supports for 2 people go pick from... 1 tank Player gets 10 choices and 2 dps get what? 17?
