I’m pretty sure that currently your mmr past diamond does not play a role period. This was an in an update a long time ago. Anything below below diamond is affected by mmr

The issue surrounding matchmaking, mechanical skills & rank is deeper than people wanting easier games. People want fun games. They don't want to be in game where it feels like their opponent is an aimbot or the enemy team is unkillable.

The biggest barrier to all of this is simple communication. Everyone has a bad game every now and then. With 5-6 people on a team it's entirely possible at least 1 person out of the 6 could be having a bad game. What top level meta players should be encouraging throughout all ranks is communication.

Everyone wants to follow the meta even people who it doesn't apply to. I made a point that brig is kind of like an off-tank healer even though she was made to be more squishy. My main point was that she could tank for other players in small engagements while real tanks hold the line and tank for the team. This person couldn't wrap their head around it and despite being a bronze rank player they kept referencing top 500 games. "I have you watched top 500 players play brig." " if you play her like a tank you're throwing...etc."

It's simple stuff like this. A simple lack of communication. I'm trying to explain I'm not saying she's suppose to rush the enemy team head on or soak up a ton of damage. I'm pointing out that her mechanics in any other Genre would make her subclass tank and that's what she brings other than her healing. When people can't have simple conversations like this without heated rage how are they ever going to communicate about the strategy in a match they're getting stomped in.

An MMR reset is A MUST for OW2. I got one of my Master friends to swap accounts with another friend of mine on high silver/low gold and do some comp runs. She placed in GOLD despite she was actually master. This proves what all of us that have been stuck in some specific elos was thinking, specially with old accounts. If you have been placed in a certain elo constantly for a handful of seasons, the chance of you getting out over one season is astronomically low. This will make things un-interesting to old low rank OW players.

Besides cutting edge games are starting to use machine learning now... How hard can it be!!

Dude if they do a soft reset every season that would be so damn hype. I would not have to smurf anymore. I could just grind every season

Dps is conterpick role. But sadly most of the people who play them below gm are braindead and selfish. THey will play what they want and blame the others

Honestly for the dps passive, instead of giving them a percentage of ultimate charge back when swapping to a different dps character, they could get a passive where they gain at least 10% more ult charge by dealing damage to the enemy (excluding shields and overhealth). That way, regardless if you switch to a different dps character or not, you can still gain ult charge back fairly quickly compared to other roles.

I wanna play at least a few games of gm combined with bronze. Sounds like a blast lol. We can have "good" match quality later in seasons

Youre speaking about the MMR reset as if you can jump straight into comp on OW2. You have to play QP in OW1 till level 25. Let's assume you have to do the same for OW2....an MMR reset would be fine

Am I the only person that liked the speed passive? Every dps felt enjoyable to play. It no longer felt like you had to be in the right position against dive characters and pray they couldn't aim to escape. Strafe dodging was more viable defensive tool. Even characters like Genji and Sombra didn't feel overly oppressive despite being able to move around more easily. If it felt too strong, going down to a 5%-7% increase would have worked just fine honestly. The new passive is a massive mistake.

So as a hard stuck Silver/Gold on Xbox I can definitely tell you it's not about mechanical skill, 1 good player cannot carry 5 terrible players against 6 level 25's...
