The Overwatch League looks destined to end after this season as Activison Blizzard have offered the team Owners who originally needed to pay $20 Million Dollars to join the league, a $6 Million Dollar payout if they decide to end the league, which most analysts seem to assume will be the route they decide to take. In a recent podcast MonteCristo Thorin Richard Lewis and Harsha aired the dirty laundry about the inception years of the league adding crucial information that adds to the story of the unraveling of the management of two completely competing interests, the RPG and MMO Goals of Team 4, who wanted to shift resources AWAY from the Overwatch 1 Shooter game that was a breakout success and Bobby Koticks designs to create a multi billion dollar esport league, the NFL of gaming. Activison Blizzard lawsuit, Jeff leaves, the entire vison for Overwatch 2 gets restructured, its nearly impossible to view the Overwatch League as anything other than an annoyance at best and a albatross around the necks of the developers at worst. After the failed experiment, it seems both the mainline game and the esport can flourish for its own reasons, as opposed to needed to have developer attention or the baggage of Activison Blizzard's terrible management attached to it.
