Bobby Kotick is gone, but he's being blamed for ignoring Overwatch 2's clear and obvious steam review bombing. In 2024 Overwatch 2 will be under the control of Microsoft, will this be the saving grace Blizzard need to save the games image?

Bobby left and people on the WOW and OW forums were like "GET FUCKED NERD" meanwhile this is his victory walk out. Bobby was on the Epstein Island list and he walks with billions made. He single handedly brought up the shares of Blizzard from the gutter. People have this mentality in games in general that "Devs do no wrong ! They are doing gods work. it's CEO and board members that mess games up " to that- Did bobby fly down the stairs and forced the employees hand to make shit ? Sure they were given goals to meet, were they forced to meet these requirements thru the way they did ? Did he make Diablo 4's bosses ? Did he write furry stories for wow ? Did he make employees not look into match making in ow ? Devs absolutely do have a large hand in this and it's incompetence.

All those steam reviews talk about is the monetization, not a single paragraph about the In game experiences, the match making, the characters, the abilities, the multiplayer experience, anything but a literal MENU tab.. I don't take those negative impressions seriously, to me that's not game review because skins ain't the game. I have my own problems with the game but they are all tied to either in game experiences or match making ones. I do think games have these problems but i don't think People like Bobby have much to do with the out come of these games. Like aren't Blizz's developers are almost all are hard left leaning ? Why do we all just explicitly know their position on that ? Their political affiliation isn't the problem, i'm far removed from US politics given i'm EU.

The fact that that's what we know about these developers instead of knowing their game developing philosophy and to be able to see that they abide by it like a principled stance !
I look into their political affiliation when i move to the US and i'm looking at ballots, that's when, until then i do not wanna be able to smell out what political motivation moves the employees hands when making a character, a story because to me that shows they aren't there to make games. While we have studios like Larion who's philosophy on games and development, in fact their philosophy on gamers, we see this often that developers hate their community. I have not the slightest clue where do Larion's employees lean on the political scale and i'm not saying that's what matters bc from where i'm seeing it they could be left or right it never mattered to me in the first place. Because they bring the profession to a market i am interested in spending my money and or time, games.

( like how do they go from us wanting to know more about tracer and her GF and soldier and the mystery man, then we get 4-5 lgbt characters who are flat as hell oh and the cop car thing)

Big move would be to have the Season Pass included with GamePass Ultimate. If MS wanted to increase GP subs, that's one way of doing it. Heh, if they really wanted to boost GamePass Subscriptions, have Overwatch 2 and Diablo Season Passes and WoW Subscription included with GamePass Ultimate.

What is the difference between overwatch 1 and overwatch 2: they took away a tank slot, didn’t give us quality pve, and found every way imaginable to monetize this game. This isn’t on Bobby… he is just an easy scapegoat. Things won’t improve

When I seen you was on the SVB podcast with Flats I thought it was going to be a monetization discussion. The shill vs. britt of the people. I was sad when it turned out to just be a year end review. But I enjoyed seeing you on it and in a long form discussion either way.
