[PSO2:NGS] What are your thoughts on PSO2 New Genesis Pacing?

Blargh, this video does not truly point at some things, so I will state/correct it in this comment. When I mention Episodes, those were major/big changes to the game. New Genesis may release stuff in Episodes as well, but they do have big additional content releases. For example, the game's initial release and the update where they add Braver class along with the new Defense Quest. Also, the pacing for a giant update where it goes into another Episode might be that of Japan, taking a year. In terms of having something, it might be duplicating Global's timespan. I understand the struggles of updating a new game, the programming, etc. but at the same time, it's 2021. Expectations, atmosphere, desires, progress, programming, equipment, society, norms, time changes it all for better or worse. I feel like the game is trying to follow some old methods that they have done back in base PSO2. Not just in terms of pacing, but for a lot of things. I can go on about it all, but I'll make separate videos for it later.

I do want to hear YOUR opinions on this though. Do not be afraid to give your opinions about it. The point of this video is to generate discussion and hear your thoughts on this topic.

I’m just gonna copy what Marc/Kaoiji said about their communication. Sega sucks at it in 3 ways. Nobody minds a different UQ or a new one; it’s the fact that when it was advertised poorly as it’s own content, not something else that is RNG based. Lack of communication with the SG ticket. Lastly back on topic what their plans for content are. He said something to the point that Urgent Quests, Gigantix while RNG based are laying the ground work for the future. When we have something else to fill our time that isn’t RNG based, we get to do Gigantix and UQ’s as a break. However Sega isn’t telling us that. This is all assumptions from how early classic PSO2 was.

  Oh, I got a different video talking about... communications or at least my opinions and thoughts that still bother me in terms of differences, but that is for a later video. And even if these are to provide the groundwork, for later, it does not feel like it's that strong. I thought the MPAs would exceed the 12 men, but they got decreased. In terms of a new concept and a different approach to the Urgent Quest, they are still using the same formulas (boss fight, defending towers). In terms of Gigantix, it's alright, I can see them revamping them for later. The concept is a unique gimmick... but how long will that take before it becomes something new (if it is really new).
  
  In terms of pacing, it's okay? Still mixed on it since... there are pros and cons to a slow pace. We get something, but it's nothing groundbreaking. There's content, but how long will it last? And what do you really define as content? Is it anything new they add in the game or is it core things that make up the game like gameplay, story, new areas?

The pacing is slow, however I’m glad it’s this way. It gives players that works a lot like me for example, time to not only grind but to enjoy things, instead of rushing things out. If the “content “ was rushed like global, you will miss out, ALOT.

  Fair enough on the slow pacing. I think the pacing of releases is fine, but I think the pacing of the existing content is a different story. It does not last long enough to overlap/ run into the next update. It burns out too quickly. Even if I go at a slow pace, I am not really getting as much of a difference. If the content can last till the next update, I think I wouldn't be as bothered by said pacing on the content.

Cr@p. Yep, thats how I would describe it. And a cr@p that, in many ways, resembles some of the chinese bootleg mobile gacha games, frankly.

I will do a very "heretic" in terms of games thing and will say this - pacing in this game is worse than in GENSHIN IMPACT. A MOBILE game, that has AP system in it, for crying out loud!

But i think its mostly because after leveling to level 20 and getting decent gear (very quick to do, which.... I already did!) there's nothing to do but dailies for money and excubes for overleveling (which is tedious, frankly).

Which makes me think - people say that "vanilla pso2 was the saaame, nyeeeh!" - can I get, like, a pointer here from og vanilla jp players - how much levels pso2 had at the very start and how much there was to do at the very beginning? Cuz I refuse to believe it was THIS freaking bad! Cuz rn game has barely enough content for what could be concidered in offline games enough for a DEMO.

like, i obv heard that story mode was... well, the way you get story bits was a mess, from what I heard. But something tells me that even story mode at the vey start wasnt THAT short... Same with UQ's and other stuff.
